Kellman & Kleiman attorneys provide training for busy professionals in all areas of management and employment law.  Courses may be conducted at our offices or yours, for individuals or groups.  Current course offerings are listed below.

 

Identifying and Preventing Sexual Harassment

A 2-hour interactive workshop for supervisors that satisfies all requirements of California Assembly Bill AB 1825.  Course materials include personnel policies prohibiting harassment, discrimination and improper fraternization.

 

Boot Camp for Managers

An intensive 3-hour “crash course” in employment law for managers.  The course provides legally compliant techniques for effectively hiring, evaluating, compensating, disciplining and terminating employees.  Course materials include Hiring Checklist, sample interview questions, Acknowledgment of At-Will Employment, Notice of Counseling, Meal Period Waiver Request, Make-Up Time Request, Termination Checklist and more.

 

Personnel Investigations

A 1-hour course for Human Resource Managers, business owners and others who might be called upon to conduct or oversee personnel investigations.  Course materials include outline of questions for use in interviewing complainant, witnesses and the accused.

 

Workplace Privacy

A 1-hour course for managers and Human Resource professionals on how to monitor and evaluate performance without violating privacy rights.  Subjects covered include Internet use, security cameras, offsite conduct, substance abuse problems, “blogging,” and medical privacy issues.  Course materials include relevant policies.

 

Protecting Confidential Information

A 1-hour program explaining how to protect trade secrets and other confidential information.  Topics covered include covenants not to compete, covenants not to solicit, confidentiality agreements and security measures.  Course materials include relevant policies.
